The community of Walton will be losing one of it’s longest-tenured employees soon. Deputy Town Clerk and tax collector Gladys Jacques, who had worked at the city fore more than 22 years, is retiring at the end of this month. Jacques, who recently turned 90 years old, says she feels like it’s just time to let someone else take over. Jacques told the Daily Star that she only entered the workforce after having four children. Last week, town leaders presented Jacques with ap laque honoring her dedicated service.
