Trial Continues For Chenango County CO Charged With Rape

The rape trial of former Chenango County corrections officer Don Reese continues today. The Evening Sun reports Otsego County Court Judge John F. Lambert is presiding in the case with Otsego County District Attorney John Muehl as special prosecutor as local judicial officials recused themselves because Reese worked for the Sheriff’s Office. \COVID-19 Deaths In Delaware & Otsego Counties

Delaware County Public Health reports 4 more people died from COVID-19 related complications. The deaths happened between Oct. 9 and Wednesday. It’s not known if those people were vaccinated. There are now 59 COVID-19 related deaths. Otsego County recorded its 71st COVID-19 death on Wednesday and there were 23 new cases.

The Chief Uncas is no longer in Otsego Lake. All Otsego reports the 55-foot vessel was transferred by descendants of the Busch family to the Susquehanna National Heritage Area, in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. Cobleskill Couple Facing Child Abuse Charges

A year-and-a-half long investigation into child abuse allegations involving a Cobleskill couple results in the man and woman facing charges. State Police say they received a report a 7-month-old child had arm and leg fractures so the investigation was initiatied. The man and woman are free on their own recognizance. Cooperstown Student Donates Lemonade Stand Proceeds To Bassett Cancer Institute

A fifth grader in Cooperstown donates the proceeds from her lemonade stand sales during last month’s Baseball Hall of Fame Induction ceremony to the Bassett Cancer Institute. Avni Patel got help from 2 friends and her older sister in running the stand. The stand brought in close to $190.
