NY Forms Prison Redevelopment Commission

New York now has a Prison Redevelopment Commission focused on reimagining closed prisons. The fifteen-member panel is comprised of leading experts across real estate, community and economic development, criminal justice reform, and government. The commission will produce a public report once its findings are complete including recommendations for next steps. Dengado To Be Sworn In As Lt, Governor On Wednesday

NY Allocates $2 Billion in Child Care Subsidies to Support Low-Income and Working Families and Child Care Providers

New York is allocating $2 billion to increase the number of families receiving child care financial assistance and the amount child care providers are paid for their essential services. Friends of Recovery of Delaware and Otsego Counties held a grand opening on Monday for its new Turning Point center in the city of Norwich at 24 East Main Street. 3rd Richmondville Homicide Suspect Apprehended

State Police apprehend a third suspect in a January Richmondville homicide. Troopers say the 18-year-old from Schnectady turned himself in last week. He is charged with 2nd degree murder, 1st degree robbery & 2nd degree criminal possession of a weapon. The man was booked into jail without bond. New York’s new congressional district maps are now law and tha means some changes for Otsego, Chenango and Schoharie County voters. The nothern part of Otsego County and all of Schorahie County are now in the 21st congressional district while the wentern part of Chenango County is now in the 23rd District.
