SUNY Oneonta Announces Inauguration Week Events

Chobani Gives Hourly Workers A Pay Raise

Chobani is increasing pay for their workers in South Edmeston. According to a news release wages are increasing between 20% and 30% for hourly manufacturing employees. The starting salary will now be $18.50 per hour. The average salary at the business is $23.50.

Norwich Woman Takes Firearm Charge Plea Deal

A woman from Norwich facing a felony firearm charge takes a plea deal. Prosecutors say the woman pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Firearm for having an illegal and unlicensed .22 caliber revolver during a traffic stop in the Town of Barker last March. She could be in jail for one to three years.

Kennedy Receives CGI Certificate

Otsego County Representative Margaret Kennedy is honored for graduating with a certificate from the County Government Institute. The graduation was held during the New York State Association of Counties recent Fall Seminar in Erie County. Main St. Parking Garage Closing For Cleaning

OCDOH Conducting COVID-19 Survey

The Otsego County Department of Health is conmducting a survey about how the pandemic has affected residents. The survey asks about behavioral changes after the pandemic started and if respondents received the vaccine. The survey link is on the department’s Facebook page.

NYSP Warns About Phone Scam

State Police are warning about a phone scam where a caller claims to be with the New York State Police Benevolent Association and asks for donations. The caller has a 607 area code number. The PBA does not solicit money by phone so if you get one of these phone calls hang up.
