SNAP Recipients To Get Additional Food Assistance

Everyone enrolled in the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive the maximum allowable level of food benefits for February. Households already receiving the maximum monthly benefit, and those that had been receiving an emergency allotment will receive a supplemental payment of at least $95. Sidney Man Charged With Felony Criminal Mischief

Felony charges are filed in a Sidney apartment vandalization. Police say it happened at a Division St. address where a man from Sidney smashed the windows. Former SUNY Delhi Student Sentenced For Unemployment Fraud

A former SUNY Delhi student gets 3 years’ probation for his plea deal to fraudulently obtaining unemployment benefits. According to prosecutors the student obtained the benefits from California and made over $13,000 in transactions. The student has to made restitution and perform community service. Fire Destroys Edmeston Home

A home in Edmeston is destroyed by fire Tuesday evening. It broke out around 9 00 p.m. in the area of Route 80 and Dinky Joe Road. There’s been no word on if anyone was injuried and the fire’s cause is under investigation. State Warns Businesses Not To Give Away Pot

The state’s Office of Cannabis Management is sending cease-and-desist letters to businesses believed to be “gifting” marijuana to get around the prohibition on unlicensed sales.
