Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown has been awarded more than 185-thousand dollars in grants for training programs. On Tuesdya, the New York State Department of Labor and Hazard Abatement Board dedicated more than 5 million dollars in grants to a number of organizations. Bassett said it would use the funds to improve workplace safety and health standards through training programs. Some programs would include toxic substance education and occupational disease prevention.
