Delaware County has begun work to preserve the Soldiers Monument at the Courthouse Square in (DEL-heye) Delhi. Some of the fencing around the monument has been removed. A consultant has been hired to test concrete samples before work can begin on the statue itself. Earlier this year, town supervisor Mark Tithill told the county’s shared services committee that the county would wait until the Fair on the Square events were finished before startong work on the monument.
