A contractor working for the City of Oneonta will begin paving several streets starting today with work wrapping up on Tuesday, weather permitting. Work hours are from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and during that time on street parking will not be permitted plus road and driveway access will be limited. Fire departments in Milford and Richfield Springs will share in over $11 million in federal funding to provide protective gear, training, and supplies to emergency personnel. The Delaware County Complete Streets Committee announces 4 projects received awards from a mini-grant program funded through the Delaware County Rural Healthcare Alliance with grant funding administered by Cornell Cooperative Extension. The Chenango County Health Department is giving COVID-19 vaccine booster shots for people who have compromised immune systems including those going through cancer treatments, organ transplant recipients or are on medication that suppresses their immune system. Governor Kathy Hochul requested a disaster declaration for Otsego Conty from the Small Business Administration as a result of the July flooding. Estimated damage is around $1.1 million. If the declaration is approved eligible residents and business owners can apply for low-interest loans to repair or replace damaged property.
