New York makes $25 million available in child care scholarships for essential workers. Those include police, firefighters, paramedics, health care providers and grovery store workers. Costs will be covered for children aged six weeks through 12 years for those whose income is less than 300 percent of the federal poverty level. Applications are now being accepted and funds will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis. Go to ocfs.ny.gov to apply.
