The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office announces Corrections Sergeant Heath Goff is the Employee of the Quarter for the 1st Quarter of 2023. Sergeant Goff joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2008 and was promoted to Sergeant status in 2020.

Hancock Man Pleads Guilty To Contempt Charge

A man from Hancock pleads guilty to a criminal contempt charge for violating a proitecton order. Prosecutors say Derek Wignal’s plea deal has a 6 month jail sentence and afterwards he will be on probation for 5 years. Sentencing is scheduled for May 15.

A driver faces multiple charges from a town of Middlefield 2-vehicle accident investigation last Saturday. The Otsego County Sheriff’s office says the charges include illegal narcotics possession. The driver who is from Cooperstown was booked then released pending a future court date.

A man from Deposit charged with choking a woman in a domestic dispute takes a plea deal. Prosecutors say Robert C. Grice was sentenced to a year of p;robation but if he violates an order of protection that will become a year in jail.

\2 Die In Norwich Drug Overdoses

6 drug overdoses in Norwich over a 24-hour period leave 2 people dead. The Evening Sun reports the overdoses occurred at residences on East Main and Walnut Streets. The other 4 individuals were taken to emergency rooms.
