New York is getting $100 million in federal funding to expand broadband internet infrastructure and provide high quality internet to underserved homes across the state. The money will anable connections to 100,000 homes in rural areas.

A woman from Walton is charged in a domestic incident. A Delaware County Sheriff’s investigation determined the woman made threats to cause bodily harm to another individual. An order of protection was issued on behalf of the vectim.

Area Unemploment Drops In February

February unemployment in Otsego County dropped to 4.4% from the January rate of 5.1%. Chenango County’s rate is down to 4.1% from 4.3% and in Delaware County it’s down to 4.5% from 5.1%. The state unemployment is 4.2% which is unchanged.

SUNY Cobleskill names Anna Miarka-Grzelak as vice president for strategic enrollment and innovation. This is a new position and she will oversee the college’s Admissions, Marketing, and Student Financial Services divisions while working closely with faculty to prepare the next generation of agriculture and technology leaders.
