The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office participated in the 25th annual Students Against Drunk Driving Run on Sunday in Oneonta. All proceeds are given to participating local area SADD Chapters to be used for alcohol and drug free after prom parties and other events.

On Friday crews completely contained the huge brush fires at the Otsego-Schoharie county line. About 80 firefighters were on the scene for two days battling the fires plus State Police helicopters dropped water on the blazes. Officials say more than 240 ares was consumed.
Norwich Police are asking for tips to catch the two suspects who burglarized a North Broad Street smoke shop last Friday. According to the Evening Sun the duo quickly and destructively ransacked the store as the alarm rang.The suspects were gone by the time officers arrived.
SUNY Oneonta’s Alumni Hall is to reopen this fall after undergoing renovations. According to the State Times the original Alumni Hall was created in 1959 and according to SUNY Oneonta’s renovation policy, they must renovate structures on campus when they become about 50 to 60 years old.

A brush fire broke out in Delhi on Thursday. Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Main Street and got the fire under control in about a half-hour. It’s not clear what caused the fire but officials warn the dry coinditions make fires more likely
