19th District Congressman Marc Molinaro issued his 100-day progress report on Wednesday. His office has responded to around 14,000 emails, phone calls and letters in that time and held town halls in 10 of the 11 counties that make up the district.

19th District Congressional candidate Josh Riles says his campaign raised a quarter of a million dollars in 24 hours since he announced on Tuesday he’ll run again in 2024. Marc Molinaro defeated Riley last year by just 2 points.

SNAP Farmer’s Market Reimbursements Increasing

The state e Department of Agriculture announces reimbursement increases for supplemental nutrition assistance program recipients who shop at certain farmers markets. The FreshConnect program will now offer a $2 rebate for each $2 spent. Reimbursements can be used for SNAP-eligible food at New York markets.

Massive Brush Fire At Otsego-Schoharie Border

Multiple fire companies responded to a large brush fire on the Otsego County-Schoharie County border on Wednesday. Officials say it started with a spark from a cleaning car on train tracks and spread quickly because of dry conditions. As of now there’s no evacuation orders in place.

Stamford Dinged In 2 DiNapoli Audits

Audits by State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office finds village of Stamford officials ineffectively budgeted a capital project for a swimming pool and did not properly audit claims. Auditors issued recommendastions for the village to provide better project oversight and make sure staff are aware of procurement policies.

Oliver Not Running For Otsego County BOR Re-Election

Clark Oliver announced he will not run for re-election to the Otsego County Board of Representatives. Oliver posted on social media he is getting his master’s in public administration and wants to remain open to career opportunities in and out of the area.

Arrest Made In Town Of Oneonta Larceny

An arrest is made in a Town of Oneonta business larceny complaint. According to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office the woman stole numerous items and was trespassed from the business several times in the past. She was held without bail.

King to Present 2023 Kaufmann Lecture at SUNY Oneonta

Environmental educator Arielle V. King will present SUNY Oneonta’s 2023 Cornell-Gladstone-Hanlon-Kaufmann Lecture in Environmental Education and Communication at 7:00 p.m. next Monday in the Alumni Field House. It takes place on opening day of the university’s “Green Dragon Week,” an Earth Day-themed celebration.
