Price Chopper in Norwich held a pet food drive to benefit Oxford-based nonprofit All Animals Matter. According to the Evening Sun 250 cans of pet food, 100 pounds of dry dog food and 100 pounds of dry cat food was collected.

A man from Pitcher is charged in a Cortland County larceny. Police say the man took merchandise past all points of sale without paying at the Walmart on Bennie Road. He was booked then released on his own recognkzance pending a May 15 court date.
Governor Kathy Hochul proclaims May as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Hochul also announced the opening of a new exhibition focusing on two Empire State Plaza Art Collection artists. The exhibit is located in the Governor’s Reception Room at the State Capitol.
Otsego and Schoharie county residents, under the age of 18 who complete an online ATV safety course can receive a free helmet and safety goggles from a program by Catholic Charities. The program starts May 15 and is limited to the first 25 recipients.
Insulin users in New York without insurance will pay no more than $35 for for the next five years. Attorney General Letitia James announced an agreement with two of the biggest insulin manufacturers who also committed to offering free insulin for diabetes patients in greatest need.
