All levels of the Oneonta municipal parking garage are closed after an inspection found more structural issues. According to the city, A routine deterioration. Officials say the garage remauins closed until it can be re-evaluated by the city’s structural engineer. The bus terminal will remain open.

Homeless Man Arrested After Norwich Standoff

A homeless man is apprehended on multiple charges after holding Norwich Police at bay for several hours. Police say the man barricaded himself in a Henry Street apartment’s closet. After surrendering he was turned over to Sidney Police.

HUD allocates $34 million toward affordable housing in New York

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded $34 million to New York for increasing and preserving the supply of decent, safe and affordable housing for low-income households including the homeless. A Waltonman is facing a felony level Criminal sale of a Weapon charge from a Delaware County Sheriff’s investigation. It determined the man purchased a weapon while under a Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order. The man was booked into jail without bail.

SUNY Oneonta Students to Go ‘Into The Streets’ to Volunteer

About 300 SUNY Oneonta students will be stationed at local businesses, parks, nonprofits and schools on Saturday to volunteer during the university’s annual community service day, called Into The Streets. They will be raking leaves, planting flowers, painting, cleaning and more at 23 sites across Otsego and Delaware counties.

Native Plant Sale at Hartwick

A native plant sale at the Hartwick College Greenhouse takes place this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The greenhouse is located at the Johnstone Science Center. The sale is sponsored by The Fernery and the collegte’s Native Plant Propagation Initiative.
