Bassett Healthcare Network adds a new member to its security team. According to a media release K-9 Remi, a 15-month-old Rottweiler and his handler, Officer Lynda May have joined the 2 existing K-9 teams which patrol the network’s hospitals and clinic campuses.

NY Has New Budget

It’s over a month late but New York has a new state budget. The $229 billion spending plan also includes changes to bail reform laws, raising the minimum wage to $16 over a three year period and new requirements to shift people to clean energy.

Pitcher Mqan Charged In Cortland County Larceny

A man from Pitcher is charged in a Cortland County larceny. Police say the man took merchandise past all points of sale without paying at the Walmart on Bennie Road. He was booked then released on his own recognkzance pending a May 15 court date.

Free ATV helmets and goggles available for kids

Otsego and Schoharie county residents, under the age of 18 who complete an online ATV safety course can receive a free helmet and safety goggles from a program by Catholic Charities. The program starts May 15 and is limited to the first 25 recipients.

Insulin Price Cap Coming To NY

Insulin users in New York without insurance will pay no more than $35 for for the next five years. Attorney General Letitia James announced an agreement with two of the biggest insulin manufacturers who also committed to offering free insulin for diabetes patients in greatest need.

Chamber to Host Workforce Wellness Summit

Credit Card Skimming Reported In DelCo

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office received reports of residents who found unauthorized charges on their debit and credit cards. An investigation determined an activity referred to as “skimming” had occurred. The victims used their cards for gas purchases at an outside readder which was compromised.
