Clinton St Closing Dor Water Main Work

Work begins today on drilling a new water main under Silver Creek at the Clinton St bridge in Oneonta. This work will continue through Wednesday. Sections of Clinton St will be closed during work house from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

NYSP Conducting Car Seat Checks In Unadilla

State Police are holding child safety seat checks on June 5 and 7 s in Unadilla at their State Route 7 headquarters from 3:00 p.n. until 8:00 p.m. each day. Appointments are not necessary but are preferred. Contact State Police Troop C for more information.

Delhi Man Arrested On Felony Warrant

State troopers apprehend a Delhi man wanted for felony welfare fraud and grand larceny, a class D felony. The man was taken into custody on May 16 was booked into to the Delaware County Jail pending arraignment.

Pver 250 Participate In Hartwick Commencement

Over 250 students participated in the 91st commencement ceremonies at Hartwick College last Saturday. Among the graduates were Imus and Stitch, two Guiding Eyes for the Blind dogs trained by Hartwick students. Baseball Hall of Fame president Josh Rawitch was this year’s commencement speaker.

Molinaro calls for federal State of Emergency

19th district congressman Marc Molinaro is calling on the Biden administration to declare a federal State of Emergency due to the influx of undocumented migrants. Otsego County declared a state of emergency to prevent asylum seekers to be bussed in from New York City.

GOHS Opens Summer Baseball Display

This summer the Greater Oneonta Historical Society will have a display exploring baseball’s Major Leaguers who played for Oneonta teams. Oneonta – On the Road to Major League Baseball will open Thursday, June 1, and close Saturday, September 1, at the Oneonta History Center, 183 Main Street.

Hochul Looks At SUNY For Possible Immigrant Housing

Governor Kathy Hochul says she is looking at placing undocumented immigrants being bussed to New York City at SUNY campuses. Hochul says she’s looking at all available state properties to house the asylum seekers. Otsego County declared a state of emergency over concerns undocumented immigrants will be transported in.

Sidney Man Sentenced For Selling Meth

It’s four years behind bars for a Sidney man pleading guilty to selling methamphetamine. Prosecutors say Thomas J. Wright, Jr. admitted to selling the meth in Sidney. Wright will be on 2 years of post-release supervision after his sentence.

NYSP Seeks Norwich Walmart Larceny Suspect

State Police seek tips to catch a man who stole purchased groceries from a Girl Scout Troop last month as he was leaving the Norwich Walmart store. He also stole a pair of shoes from the store. The man’s photo is at the State Police Facebook page
