A trespass complaint in the town of Burlington ends up with a woman arrested on drug charges. Police say the woman from Burlington was taken into custody and booked on 2 counts of controlled substance possession then released. She is to appear in Town of Burlington Court on a later date

A driver is facing multiple charges from a town of Morris collision. Police say the man the man’s vehicle had struck a tree and 3 children inside suffered minor injuries. The driver was booked and released pending a future date in town of Morris Court.

Fire Damages Morris Home

A fire damages a vacant home in the Town of Morris. Firefighters were dispatched Saturday afternoon to the Broad Street dwelling and called for reinforcements with more than 6 other companies responding. No injuries were reported and the fire’s cause is under investigation.

Road Work Suspended For Independence Day Weekend

New York suspends road and bridge construction from6:00 a.m. tomorrow though 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday to ease travel throughout the Independence Day holiday weekend. Drivers are reminded to follow the state’s Move Over Law, which requires slowing down and safely moving over for law enforcement vehicles, first responders, tow trucks and maintenance vehicles.

Norwich Resident Charged In CCSO Investigation

Bail is set at $5,000 for a town of Norwich resident facing charges from the the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect is charged with Strangulation, Criminal Contempt, Unlawful Imprisonment, Criminal Mischief and Harassment. It’s not clear what led to the charges being brought.

An Air Quality Alert remains in effect until midnight due to smoke from wildfires in Canada. The air quality is at unhealthy levels and those with cardiovascular or respiratory problems should stay indoors. Officials say everyone should limit physical activities until the air quality improves.
