State Police identified the man who drowned on Saturday in Canadarago Lake. David Morrissey of Mohawk was reported missing that morning after trying to retrieve his boat which had drifted. The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 team participated in last Saturday’s Brandows Feed and Seed’s Dog Days Beach Bash. Meridale Semi Accidenrt Blocks Roadway

State Highway 28 in Meridale was closed for several hours late Thursday after an 18-wheeler rolled over. Police say it took over 7 hours to get the semi’s cargo unloaded so the the truck could be put back on its wheels. The driver identified as a man from Florida was hospitalized. Man Drowns In Canadarago Lake

A man drowned Saturday while attempting to retrieve a boat in Canadarago Lake. State Police say they were called after the man failed to resurface. Troopers were aided by park police and several fire department in the search for the man. His identity was not disclosed. NY To Rename Highway For Assemblyman Magee

A section of State Route 13 will be renamed in honor of Assemblyman Bill Magee who died last December. Magee was sworn into the New York State Assembly in 1990, representing Madison County and parts of Otsego and Oneida Counties. The section of highway will be in Madison County.
