The State Assembly is suspending Governor Andrew Cuomo’s impeachment investigation. Lawmakers say that because the governor has resigned they cannot impeach an official no longer in office. Cuomo resigned last week and will leave office next week. At that time Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul will become New York’s first woman governor. New York Attorney General Letitia James issued an alert about the “Boss Scam,” a common text and email scam in which fraudsters pose as a consumer’s employer and request gift cards due to a work emergency.
