Changes are coming to New York State’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program in order to speed up payments and attract more applicants. An additional 100 workers will be assigned to complete pending applications and the state will do outreach to get more participation in areas with relatively low numbers of applicants. The Otsego County Department of Health reports 11 new COVID-19 cases with 81 cases currently active. 5 people remain hospitalized. 7 new cases were reported by the Chenango County Health Department with 82 cases active. 196 people are in quarantine and 8 people are hospitalized. Neither department reported any new COVID-19 related deaths.
Resources for Communities and People is hoding online workshops on residential wells and residential septic systems. The wells workshop is Thursday while the septic workshop is next Tuesday. The department didn’t disclose the individual’s age, gender or residency or if that person was vaccinated. 14 additional COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday and the active case total is 83. 5 people are hospitalized. A month-long investigation into bad checks passed in Cobleskill results in a man facing felony charges. Police say the man cashed 3 fradulent checks last month worth more than $13,000. The man turned himself in last Sunday and was arraigned on 2 felony charges then released on his own recognizance.
