COVID-19 Update

Otsego County reported 23 new COVID-19 cases on Monday with the active case count at 143. 4 people are currently hospitalized. Chenango County reported 50 new COVID-19 cases on Monday with 116 active cases. 291 people are in quarantine and 6 are hospitalized. No new deaths were reported in either county.

Chenango County Offers Home COIVID-19 Test Kit Tips

The Chenango County Health Department is offering tips to those using home COVID-19 test kits. Officials say to follow the kit’s directions exactly espcially the prerequisites and kit storage instructions. Rabid Bat Found In Cooperstown

A bat found in Cooperstown tests positive for rabies. Health Department officials say it was found last Thursday and there was no human exposure. Rabies can be fatal if not treated immediately after being exposed. State law requires all dogs, cats and ferrets to be vaccinated against rabies. Otsego County Has 3rd COVID-19 Related Death In A Week

The Otsego County Department of Health reports a third COVID-19 death occurred last week. The most recent deaths occurred in individuals aged from 42 to 78. 94% of all deaths related to COVID-19 are in unvaccinated individuals.Since September 1st there have been 408 new COVID-19 cases reported with 14 cases on Saturday.
