Chobani & Utica Non-Profit Makes Donations To 4 Area School Districts

New Berlin-based Chobani and the Utica non-profit Compassion Coalition donated $29,000 worth of food and supplies to help Edmeston Central School, Unadilla Valley School District, Sherburne-Earlville Central School, and Norwich City Schools. The donated food restocks school food pantries and will feed more than 200 children and their families throughout the year. COVID-19 Cases Up In Otsego & Chenango Counties

The Otsego County Department of Health reported 20 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday with 103 cases active. 7 people are hospitalized. In Chenango County there were 9 additional cases on Tuesday with 112 cases active. 37 of those are with vaccinated individuals. 295 people are in quarantine and 5 are hospitalized.

NY To Expand SNAP Program To Include Prepared Foods

New York is planning to expand its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to including purchasing prepared meals. Gov. Kathy Hochul says this expansion will help the homeless, disabled and elderly to use their benefits for prepared or hot food from participating restaurants. FEMA Grants Available For Flood Mitigation Projects

Applications are now being accepted for Federal Emergency Management Agency funding for communities to pay for flood mitigation projects. $1.16 billion in grants are available to strengthen resiliency against future national disasters such as severe floods, wildfires, and hurricanes. Investigation Under Way Into Walton Officer Involved Shooting

State Police and the State Attorney General’s Office are investigating a police-involved shooting in the Village of Walton early Monday morning. It happened on Griswold Street and according to Walton Police a man pointed what looked like a handgun and wouldn’t drop it. The man died at the scene. Delaware County Has 55th COVID-19 Related Death

Delaware County Public Health reports a 55th person died from COVID-19 related complications. It”s not known if the individual was vaccinated. 52 new cases were reported Monday withg 152 active cases. Nearly 150 people are quarantined and 6 are hospitalized. Otsego & Chenango Counties had no new COVID-19 deaths.

Chenango County Holding Pfizer COVID-19 Booster Clinic Today

A reminder that the Chenango County Health Department is holdong a COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic today from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at their South Plaza location in Norwich. Robinson Gets 20 To Life For Father’s Murder

Dylan Robinson is sentenced to 20 years to life for the 2019 death of his father resulting from an attempted robbery. According to All Otsego a jury convicted Robinson of second-degree murder, third-degree robbery and first-degree burglary but found him not guilty on an arson charge.
