Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Gains 2 Deputies

Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond announced two new Deputy Sheriffs have graduated from the Broome County Law Enforcement Academy. Deputies Samantha Acuna and Lucas Elmore are now certified NYS Police Officers. DuMond says he is proud and honored to have Deputy Acuna and Deputy Elmore join the ranks of the Sheriff’s Office. Delaware County Public Health Holding COVID-19 Clinic On Thursday

Delaware County Public Health is holding a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 97 Main Street in Delhi. The clinic is open to people 18 and older. Voters in Delhi elect Mark E. Tuthill as supervisor according to unofficial election returns. Richard L. Gumo is leading the Town Justice race while Margaret O. Baldwin is the top vote-getter for membr of council. The 2 candidates vying for the second council seat are separated by one vote.

Chenango County Election Results

Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting easily wins re-election according to unofficial returns on Tuesday. Brian F. Wessels hs a large lead in the County Clerk contest. Norwich elects Brian J. Doliver as Mayor and Fred Gee wins the Alderman Ward 2 race. In Ward 4 William F. Loomis is holding a sizeable lead.

Drnek New Oneonta Mayor

Oneonta’s new mayor is Mark Drnek. Unofficial returns from Tuesday show the 8th Ward Councilman with a sizeable lead over 5th Ward Councilman Len Carson. Incumbents won most of the Otsego County Board of Representatives contests except for District 2 where Jerry Madsen holds a slight lead over Michele Farwell.

Stabbing At Delhi Party

A stabbing occurred on Sunday at an off-campus party in Delhi. Police say it was the result of a fight at the Scotch Mountain Road location with one victim taken to Albany Medical Center and 3 others treated locally. So far no suspects have been identified. Stabbing Investigation In Oneonta

A stabbing investigation is under way in Oneonta. Police say a man was attacked on Sunday at the corner of East and Cedar streets. He was hospitalized with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. So far there’s been no arrests.
