Middleburgh Central School District Seeks New Superintendent

The Middleburgh Central School District is looking for a new Superintendent as Brian Dunn is leaving to become superintendent of the Pine Bush Central School District. According to the Cobleskill Times-Journal the school board is getting assistance from Capital Region BOCES to search for Dunn’s successor. NY Department Of Health Issues Maternal Mortality Report

The New York State Department of Health issues a report on maternal mortality. Among the findings are that 78% of pregnancy-related deaths in 2018 could have been prevented The leading causes of pregnancy-related deaths were embolism hemorrhage and mental health conditions. Lt. Governor Benjamin Resigns Over Campaign Finance Charges

New York’s Lieutenant Governor resigns after being indicted on federal campaign finance charges. Prosecutors say Brian Benjamin used his officials authority while a state senator in 2019 to obtain a state-funded grant in exchang for campaign contributions. Benjamin turned himself in on Tuesday. Ghost Gun Bust In Springfield

State Police charge a Springfield man with multiple felonies for possessing so-called “ghost guns” – weapons made from parts that have no serial numbers. Troppers responded to a domestic dispute call on Sunday and that’s when the weapons were found. He’s held on $20,000 cash bail or $45,000 bond. NY Makes $70 Million Available To Address Child Care Deserts

New York makes $70 million in federal grant funding available to newly licensed, registered or permitted child care programs in areas without sufficient child care.
