2 Men Face Felony Charge In Sidney Burglary

Sidney Police apprehend 2 men who made their way into the former Grand Union store on Delaware Ave. without permission. The 2 were found after officers saw a back door had been opened. NY Colleges Can No Longer Withhold Transcripts Of Tuition-Debt Students

New York’s colleges can no longer withhold transcripts for students with outstanding tuition balances or charge a higher fee for those records. Previously only SUNY and CUNY dropped the practice. DC Jail Inmate Charged With Assaulting Another Prisoner

A Delaware County Jail inmate faces a new felony charge for assaulting another inmate. According to the Sheriff’s Office the victim was hit with a number of closed punches causing wounds to the face and chest. The inmate was arraigned on the new charged then sent back to jail. OC Jail Inmate Found Dead In His Cell

An Otsego County Jail inmate died on Sunday. According to the Sheriff’s Office corrections officers making their rounds found the man unresponsive in his cell. He was pronounced dead at Bassett Medical Center. The state department of corrections and the Attorney General’s office are investigating. SUNY Delhi President Leaving For UMA

SUNY Delhi President Michael Laliberte is leaving at the end of June to become President of the University of Maine at Augusta. Laliberte joined SUNY Delhi 6 years ago and in that time oversaw the creation of nearly 20 new degree programs. SUNY is now searching for his replacement. Fly Creek Hotel Demolition Permit Withdrawn

The Fly Creek Hotel will not be demolished after all. According to All Otsego the developer who applied to raze the historic hotel withdrew the application. Oneonta Police are warning of a phone scam involving Chief Christopher Witzenburg. According to a news release an individual received a call from someone claiming to be Witzenburg called but the individual knew it wasn’t him and called police.
