Norwich police apprehend a suspect in an arson last month at the Golden Age Apartments. According to the Evening Sun the man from Norwich started a dumpster fire and it was quickly extinguished but not before a surrounding fence was damaged. The man is jailed on $10,000 bail. The City of Oneonta is offering grant frtom $200 to $1,000 so community members can create public projects that benefit the city. The former Cooperstown police officer who injured two people by accidentally discharging his personal handgun while at a restaurant pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment on Thursday. Vincent Cavalieri was charged in the 2020 incident last month. He was sentenceds to a one-year conditional discharge meaning no jail time. A motorcyclist died in a crash Tuesday on I-88 in Schoharie. According to State Police the rider was speeding and troppers gave chase but broke it off after losing sight of the rider.
