An Oneonta man faces several charges from a shoplifting incident at a Highway 26 convenience store. According to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office the man tried to make off with nearly $850 worth of merchandise. He also possessed a small amount of LSD. The man was arraigned then released. A 3-month fraud investigation by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office results in a Davenport woman facing several charges. The woman who investigators say was a home health care nurse forged and deposited over $17,000 in checks from a patient and their family. The woman is free pending a future court date. New York creates a new watchdog agency to rein in prescription drug costs. The Department of Financial Services’ Pharmacy Benefits Bureau is charged with overseeing Pharmacy Benefit Managers, specifically their impact on consumers and the cost of health care. Governor Kathy Hochul announced the state is making an investment to directly support abortion providers in anticipation of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
