Chestnut St. in Oneonta was shut down Friday morning near Fonda Ave. due to a motor vehicle accident. Oneonta Police, Oneonta Fire and the Department of Public Works all responded. Chenango County’s Public Health Director announces his retirement. Marcas Flindt has been the Public Health Director for nearly 25 years. NY Allocates $14 Million for New Climate Smart Community Projects

New York makes $14 million available to municipalities from the Climate Smart Communities Grant program to address climate change. Funding is available for projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reducing flood risk, increasing natural resiliency, and relocating or retrofitting critical infrastructure. Several brush fires broke out in Otsego County on Wednesday. Officials say one fire in Schenevus took 5 hours to get extinguished while 18 fire companies responded to another in Maryland.
