NY Now Allows X Gender On Licenses

New York now allows driver license and state ID holders to mark their gender as the letter X. It’s part of the Gender Recognition Act which became law last year. It expands protections for transgender and non-binary residentsincluding protections to reduce discrimination and allows residents to amend their birth certificates. Norwich CSD Gets Full Time SRO

Norwich city schools will now have a full-time school resource officer. The Evening Sun reports the district and the city signed an agreement to change the position to full-time from part-time. Woman Killed In Davenport Collision

One person is killed and 2 others injured in a car-tractor trailer collision in Davenport on Thursday. Police say it happened on State Route 23 when the vehicles collided head-on. A woman passenger in the car died while the driver and semi drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Excelsior Scholarship Application Window Open

New applicants for the state Excelsior Scholarship can now submit paperwork for the 2022-2023 academic year. Smith Named Delaware County Undersheriff

Delaware County has a new undersheriff. Sergeant Kim Smith is a 25 year member of the Sheriff’s Office and was sworn in last Tuesday. Smith succeeds Undersheriff Timothy Buckley who retired.
