DCSO K9 Team Now Certified

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office announced the graduation of Corporal Jeffrey Cark and partner K9 Edge from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office K9 Academy. The pair are now certified for tracking individuals, locating discarded or secreted items, criminal apprehension and handler protection. Man Killed In Masonville Crash

A motorcycle crash on State Highway 8 in the town of Masonville takes the rider’s life. Police say the rider who is from Sidney was going southbound when he left the roadway and struck a guiderail. Sidney Business Fails Underage Alcohol Compliance Check

New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in Delaware County last Wednesday. 14 establishments were checked with one in Sidney not in compliance. The employee selling alcohol to the minor was ticketed. Plain-clothed troopers accompany minors on the compliance checks. When asked for ID, the minors must show their real ID. Man Charged With Throwing Rocks At Cars

A man from Franklin is charged with criminal mischief after an incident in Otego. According to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office an investigation was conducted after a call came in about a man damaging a vehicle by throwing rocks at it. DuMond Issues Statement On NY Gun Laws

Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond issued a statement on New York’s new gun control laws after the U.S. Supreme Court Overturned the state’s concealed carry law. NY Makes $10 Million Available to Strengthen Security at Reproductive Health Care Facilities

New York is allocating $10 million to reproductive health care and abortion services providers to help improve the security of their facilities and safety of staff and patients. NY Funding Development of 12 Supportive Crisis Stabilization Centers

New York is planning to fund construction of a dozen new Supportive Crisis Stabilization Centers and is seeking proposals from organizations to develop the facilities. $71 million in funding is available to build the 12 centers which will provide support and assistance to individuals with mental health and/or substance use crisis symptoms. $255 Million in Grants Available for Critical Water Infrastructure Projects

Municipalities can now apply for state grants for critical water infrastructure projects that will protect public health and the environment. $255 million is to be awarded through the State’s Water Infrastructure Improvement, Intermunicipal Grant, and State Septic System Replacement programs.
