Paws & Pints Raises Nearly $1800 For Chenango SPCA

Nearly $1,800 was raised by the Chenango SPCA from its Paws and Pints fundraiser last Saturday. According to the Evening Sun the second annual event eatured games, a bake sale, a 50/50 raffle and T-shirt sales.The Chenango SPCA currently has 119 cats and seven dogs available for adoption. SUNY Oneonta’s Gender and Sexuality Resource Center is looking for professionals interested in being trained as Safe Space training facilitators. Opportunities for Otsego Receives Additional Victim Assistance Funds

Opportunities for Otsego’s Violence Intervention Program will expand services to victims of interpersonal violence through funds awarded by the New York State Office of Victim Services. The grant funds core victim services and will pay for creating a 24-hour accessible Victim Advocacy Center in the City of Oneonta to address increasing violence incidents.

Group Evicted From Colchester Campground

DEC forest rangers responded to the Bear Spring Campground in Colchester last Saturday after multiple camper complaints about a loud group. Rangers interviewed the uncooperative group and noticed multiple violations. Tickets were issued to the permit holder then the group was evicted.

Legislation Enacted To Honor and Support Holocaust Survivors

New legislation is enacted to honor and support Holocaust survivors. It will help ensure schools are providing high-quality Holocaust education, require museums to acknowledge art stolen by the Nazi regime, and directs the Department of Financial Services to publish a list of financial institutions that voluntarily waive fees for Holocaust reparation payments.

Rabies Vaccine Clinic Today At Neahwa Park

The Otsego County Department of Health is hosting a free Rabies vaccination clinic in Neawha Park today from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. It will be in the small pavilion behind the Red Caboose. Bring proof of a previous vaccination for a 3 year certificate.
