The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office reinds the public that starting on Sunday state law makes it a felony to possess an ammunition device that holds more than 10 rounds. You can surrender any of these devices to police or a Federal Fireams Licensee before the new law takes effect.
Delaware County Department of Public Works crews are replacing culvert pipes on County Route 26 in the towns of Hamden and Colchester. Traffic will be reduced to one lane. Catch basin replacement work is continuing in Treadwall on County Route 14 east of the intersection with Case Hill Road so expect delays.
Today is International Overdose Awareness Day and the Schoharie County Addiction Prevention Coalition is holding a vigil at the Cableskill Fairgrounds at 7:00 p.m. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. with informational resources available including training on the anti-overdose drug Narcan. In 2022 there’s been nearly 2 dozen overdoses in the county and 5 deaths.
Baseball hall of famer Jim Kaat will return to Cooperstown as the celebrity host for the Pathfinder Village-Baseball Hall of Fame Golf Invitational Sept. 19 at the Leatherstocking Golf Course. He will be featured as the guest speaker at that evening’s fundraiser dinner at the Otesaga Resort Hotel.
The Unatego Central School District is providing basic supplies to students in grades Pre-K through 12. Students will still need to provide their own backpacks, sneakers for Physical Education classes, and smocks for art class at the elementary school. No-cost breakfast and lunch will be provided to all students, regardless of family income.

A Delaware County grand jury indicts a 59-year-old man for sexually abusing multiple juvenile victims inm the town of Andes. According to State Police the man who is from Warwick is facing similar charges there. He is being held without bail in the Delaware County Jail.
The SUNY Oneonta/Hartwick College Chamber Orchestra invites interested musicians to join in on Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The group is comprised of both student and non-student musicians of all skill levels, and no audition is required.
