2-Men Charged in Ghost Gun Investigation

2 men are facing charges after a State Police investigation in Chenango County found they possessed so-called “ghost guns” and large capacity ammunition feeding devices not compliant with the New York SAFE Act. Each is charged with 2 counts of felony criminal possession of a weapon and both were released on their own recognizance.

Schenevus Man Faces Child Pornography & Animal Cruelty Charges

A man from Schenevus faces felony charges from a State Police child pornography investigation. The man was taken into custody last Thursday and jailed on $20,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. Troopers found seven adult dogs at the home which did not have adequate food, water or shelter. They’re now at the SPCA.

SNAP Recipients To Get Additional Food Assistance

Those enrolled in the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive the maximum allowable level of food benefits for September. Households already receiving the maximum monthly benefit, and those that had been receiving an emergency allotment will receive a supplemental payment of at least $95.

Colchester Woman Charged With Giving Alcohol To Minors

A woman from Colchester faces charges for buying alcohol then giving it to minors. According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a disturbance at the woman’s home and that’s when they learned she had purchased the alcohol. She is free on her own recognizance.

Statewide Gas Price Average Under $4 A Gallon

Triple-A reports the statewide average for a gallon of regular gas is under $4 for the first time since February. It’s at $3.89 a gallon which is a 13 cent drop from a week ago. But it’s still over $4 a gallon in Otsego and Delaware counties.

Man Charged In Unadilla Shooting

A man is facing an attempted murder charge from a shooting Saturday in Unadilla. State Police say the man who is from Oneonta fired a shotgun that investigators determined may have caused another person’s death. The investigation also determined the man is a convicted felon who is not allowed to own guns.
