Charges Filed In Animal Cruelty Incident

Charges are filed in an animal cruelty investigation resulting from an animal seizure at a Gilbertsville farm. Police seized nearly 20 horses,two pigs, a llama, a donkey and a cat. The Susquehanna SPCA is caring for the animals. The suspect is due in court next month.

Man Arrested For Forging DMV Documents

An Otsego County Sheriff’s Office investigation leads to the arrest of a man on multiple felony charges for using forged documents to conduct vehicle sales transactions. The investigation resulted in a search warrant where additional forged documents were seized. The man was jailed pending arraignment.

2 Charged In Oneonta Fight

A man and a woman are charged in a Town of Oneonta fight earlier this month. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fight-in-progress and trespass call at a County Highway 205 address. The man faces multiple charges including criminal mischief while the woman was charged with resisting arrest. Both were booked then released.

Nourish NY Program Reaches Milestones

The Nourish New York initiative `launched during the pandemic to get more food to people in need while supporting farmers reaches several milestones. One is the achievement of over 50 million pounds of New York farm products purchased for food banks putting meals on the table for families facing food insecurity.

Glimmerglass Festival Gets Grant

The Glimmerglass Festival receives a $25,000 donation from the Glimmerglass Festival Guild which provides acts of service and financial support for the world-renowned company. According to All Otsego the Guild raises money through the annual gala in August at The Otesaga Resort.

Cherry Valley Kite Festival Is Saturday

The Cherry Valley Kite Festival returns Saturday for the first time since 2018. According to All Otsego it will be held on Campbell from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per car. The indoor fly-in is at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the old schoolhouse and admission is free.

Soil & Water Districts Get State Funding

Soil and Water Districts in Delaware and Schoharie Counties receive state grants to assist farmers in battling climate change along with becoming more environmentally-friendly. The money comes from the Climate Resilient Farming Grant Program which awarded close to $8 million to help more than 70 farms across the state.

Otsego County Gets New Tourism Website

Otsego County has a new tourism promotion website aimed at locals. According to Destination Marketing Corporation the site at wegootsego.com went live Thursday. Officials say the site connects residents with local tourism businesses so they can explore attractions near to them.

Hochul-Zeldin Debate Now In Doubt

A debate between Gov. Kathy Hochul and challenger Congressman Lee Zeldin is now in doubt. Earlier this week the two agreed to a forum on Oct. 25 that was to be broadcast on a cable TV station but yesterday Zeldin rescinded his participation saying he wants Hochul to do a series of debates.
