Deer Caught In Hartwick Collage Soccer Goal

State Environmental Control officers responded Wednesday to reports of a deer trapped in a soccer goal net at Hartwick College. One officer managed to cover the yearling deer with a blanket and hold it long enough for Hartwick employees to cut the net off and free the deer. The animal was uninjured.

SQSPCA kicks off ‘Subaru Loves Pets Month’

The Susquehanna SPCA is partnering with Subaru of America and Five Star Subaru to offer half-price adoptions this month. Adoption fees for shelter animals with special needs will be waived entirely. This year Subaru will give the SQSPCA $100 for every pet adopted during the promotion up to $3,100.

Maryland Woman Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Charges

A woman from Maryland facing federal child pornography charges takes a plea deal. According to a news release the 30-year-old woman pleaded guilty to charges she videoed herself having sexual contact with the child then sent the video to another individual. She is to be sentenced next February.

Middleburgh Traffic Stop Turns Into Drug Bust

A Middleburgh traffic stop turns into a drug bust resulting in 3 people facing felony charges. State Police say a trooper recognized one of the passengers as having an outstanding arrest warrant and that led to a vehicle search. All 3 have been arraigned.

Oneonta Man Charged With Attempted Catalytic Converter Theft

A homeless Oneonta man is charged with attempting to steal a vehicle catalytic converter. State Police say it happened at a town of Oneonta auto shop and a trooper caught the man in the process of stealing the converter. The man was booked then released and is due back in court next Tuesday.

SUNY Oneonta Holding Flu Shot Clinics

11 Names ASdded To NY Firefighters Memorial

On Tuesday the names of 11 firefighters who died in the line of duty were added to the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Albany. There are now 2,631 men and women on the memorial wall. New York holds a ceremony each year during Fire Prevention Week.

Fly Creek Cider Mill’s Millpond Pavilion Dedication

The Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard will dedicate their new Millpond Pavilion this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The project started in 2005 and allows for a continuous promenade. It will showcase a revolving exhibit from the Mill’s collection of agricultural and milling apparatus along with antique engines.
