A Town of Springfield traffic stop turns into a drug bust. Police say they stopped a driver on Route 80 for moving violations and a vehicle search resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, The driver and 2 passengers are now facing charges including a felony.

New York ends the practice of charging an additional fee to debtors when collecting outstanding debts owed to the State resulting from educational expenses. Victims and survivors of crime whose essential personal property was stolen, damaged or destroyed may now receive up to $2,500 from the state Office of Victim Services to replace items deemed necessary for their health, safety or welfare. The funding through FEMA supports regional homeland security preparedness efforts, including planning, organization, equipment, training, and exercise activities. State Department of Environmental Conservation officers investigateed an illegal solid waste dumping report in the town of Maryland. The investigation determined an absentee property owner hired two men who dumped construction debris at that location and in the Albany area. Charges were filed here and are pending in Albany.
