Ommegang Participating In Hops For Heroes

Ommegang in Cooperstown is participating in this year’s “Hops for Hero’s” event on Veterans Day. Ommegang will serve “Homefront IPA” on Nov. 11 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Proceeds benefit the national charity Soldiers’ Angels. which helps service members, veterans, wounded heroes, and their families.

Free Fishing Day On Veterans Day

New York is holding Free Fishing Day on Nov. 11 to honor the nation’s veterans. On Veterans Day, a fishing license is not needed in the state’s fresh waters. However, all other fishing regulations are still in effect.

SUNY Oneonta Gets New 911 Signage on Campus Buildings

SUNY Oneonta has new blue and white reflective signs on buildings across campus that indicate the address assigned to each building by the Otsego County 911 Center to be used for emergency response. The new signs will help first-responders locate the specific building they’ve been dispatched to.

DelCo Toys For Tots Campaign Under Way

Delaware County’s annual Toys for Tots campaign is under way. It’s organized by the county’s Chamber of Commerce and lasts until December 9th. The Chamber has partnered with Delaware Opportunities to distribute the toys to families in need. Dropoff locastions are on the Chamber’s Facebook page.

9 Arrested In Oneonta Drug Bust

9 people are arrested in a drug bust at a town of Oneonta motel. State Police say it was the result of complaints about drug activity and overdoses in the area of the motel. Methamphetamine laced with fentanyl and fentanyl laced heroin was seized. The investigation is still continuing.

Richfield Springs Woman Charged With Identify Theft

An investigation into an identity theft by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office results in a Richfield Springs woman facing a felony charge. Investiators say the woman used an elderly man’s identity to obtain credit exceeding $500. She is free pending a Nov. 17 court appearance.

DelCo Man Booked For Illegal Ginseng Harvesting

A Delaware County man is facing charges for illegaly harvesting wild ginseng in Middletown back in August. According to the State Department of Environmental Conservation the man harvested the ginseng on private property without permission. The man was booked the released pending a court appearance.

Golisano Center Marks 10th Anniversary

The Tom Golisano Center for Autism at Springbrook in Oneonta celebrated its 10-year anniversary last week. All Otsego reports the event offered tours of the facilities, trolley rides provided by Leatherstocking Trolley Company, a parade of students and staff, and a dinner for attendees.

Unasdilla Man Arrested For Bail Jumping

A man from Unadilla wanted for bail jumping is apprehended in Ohio. Police in Sandusky took the man into custody last month and Otsego County Sheriff’s deputies brought him back for arraignment. Oneonta Police assisted with the investigation into the man’s whereabouts.
