It supports community growing spaces and recognize the impact on local food resiliency and food security. CWC Approves Funding For Septic Repairs and Replacements

The Catskill Watershed Corporation Board of Directors approved funding for 26 projects under the Septic Repair and Replacement Program and Wastewater Programs. The projects are in Delaware and 3 other counties. Construction will be completed by contractors of the homeowner’s choosing.

NY Sports Betting Tax Revenue Tops $500M

New York has taken in over a half-billion dollars in taxes since sports betting began in January. The state also collected $200 million in licensing fees. According to Governor Kathy Hochul’s office this is the largest collection of revenue from sports betting in the nation.

Molinaro Defeats Riley For 19th Congress

Marcus Molinaro is declared the new 19th Congressional District representative. The Associated Press reports Molinaro earned 51.1 percent of the votes, compared to Riley’s 48.9 percent. Riley won the seat earlier this year after Antonio Delgado begame Lieutenant Governor. Riley has not yet conceded.

Plastic Film Recycling Challenge Starts Next Tuesday

The Otsego County Schools Plastic Film Recycling Challenge begins on America Recycles Day which is next Tuesday. Students will collect eligible items which will be weighed and the school that brings in the most plastic wins. The challenge is open to all public and private k-12 schools in Otsego County.
