A Davenport man is charged following a Delaware County Sheriff’s Office domestic incident investigation. The victim told deputies the man turned off power to her residence to try and evict her from the home. He was booked then released on hs own recognizance.
State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli reports local sales tax collections in October increased by 14.1% in October compared to the same month in 2021 but not all localities saw gains. In Chenngo County collections declined by over 16% from October 2021.
The New York Farm Bureau released its Thanksgiving 2022 Market Basket Survey which found the price of a traditional holiday dinner is over 25% more than last year. The average total price, which includes a 16-pound turkey is $66.39. In 2021 the price was $52.59.
A suspicious vehicle call in the Town of Delhi leads to a man facing several charges including an outstanding arrest warrant. Police were called to a Hoag Cross Road address and an investigation determined the man possessed drugs and was wanted by the Village of Sidney court.
Governor Kathy Hochul proclaims November as Transgender Awareness Month. Hochul says this is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the discrimination and attacks transgender, gender non-conforming and non-binary people face across the world. The proclamation designates November 20 as Transgender Day of Remembrance.
A domestic dispute in Stamford leads to a man facing felony charge. Police say the man damaged the victim’s personal property during the incident. He was booked for felony criminal mischief then released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
A pair of decorative eagles were stolen recently from the Sidney Veterans Memorial Park. Photos of the stolen eagles are posted on the park’s Facebook page. If you’ve seen them or have any information on the theft you’re asked to contact Sidney Police.
SUNY Oneonta’s Director of Access and Opportunity Programs Pathy Leiva is selected by The State University of New York for its 2023 Hispanic Leadership Institute class. It is a rigorous six-month experience that provides an opportunity to further develop higher education leadership skills and proficiencies. They will begin this work in January.
An audit from State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office finds the Department of Labor’s Unemployment Insurance system weakened oversight and ultimately contributed to billions in improper payments during the COVID-19 pandemic. DiNapoli says DOL officials did not heed warnings as far back as 2010 that its UI system was out of date.
Voters in the Charlotte Valley Central School District are invited to information sessions about the district’s proposed $13.3 million capital improvement project. The sessions are on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the elementary auditorium and a senior citizens’ breakfast is planned for 9:00 a.m. on Nov. 29
