NY Enacts Space Heater Regulations

New York enacts new electric space heater regulations that will require them to have a thermostat, automatic shut off and certification by an OSHA-approved provider. Authorities say improperly equipped space heaters are responsible for many home fires during the colder months.

LPG Leasing Customers Can Now Use Any Supplier In Emergency

Homeowners who lease liquified petroleum gas tanks can now receive emergency deliveries from any supplier during times of a qualifying emergency under a new law. That includes a federal, state, or local emergency declaration, severe weather or similar circumstances that may result in death, injury, or damage to a building.

Arrests Made In Sherburne Burglaries

Two people are apprehended in a string of business burglaries in Sherburne. Police say the 2 took cash and caused property damage. One suspect was booked into jail without bail and the other was released on his own recognizance.

SUNY Oneonta To Become A University

B-G Voters Approve Capital Project

Voters in the Bainbridge Guilford School district overwhelmingly approved a $15.4 million capital project on Wednesday. The money will cover renovations at all buildings along with improvements to the athletic fields and construct a 102-space parking lot next to the football field.

DelCo Unveils COVID-19 Business Grant Fund

Delaware County announced the opening of a COVID-19 Resiliency and Income Loss Grant fund. Just over $941,000 is awarded from the New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal CARES Act Funding. Businesses have until Jan. 25 to apply for funding.

Seward Man Facing Child Porn Charge

A man from Seward is facing additional felony charges from a State Police investigation into an infant’s injury. The investigation determined the man had child pornography on an electronic device. He was previously charged with felony assault and is free on his own recognizance.

Charlotte Valley Central School District Capital Plan Approved

Charlotte Valley Central School District voters give the green light to a $13.3 million capital project which includes several renovated facilities and turn an all-purpose room into a library and media center. New windows and lighting will be installed and the school’s athletic track will be rebuilt.

Fred McGriff is the sole nominee elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee. process. He is a 5-time All-Star and 1995 World Champion. 8 names were on the ballot. Baseball writers select their inductees early next year.
