Sidney Police apprehend a woman with an active arrest warrant. It was the result of a joint investigation with the Department of Homeland Security into the possession of firearms by a person who, by law, is prohibited from possessing firearms. She was booked then released pending a future court date.
A Schoharie County jail inmate is charged with unrelated crimes in Delaware County. Police say the 3 new felony charges are from a business burglary last June. The individual was arraigned in Delaware County then returned to the Schoharie County jail.
A shots fired report in the town of Andes results in a man facing charges. State Police say a woman was wounded when the man accidentally fired the weapon. She was hospitalized for facial injuries. An investigation determined the weapon was not legal in New York.
An altercation at a town of Unadilla business results in a 19-year-old facing multiple charges. Police say the 19-year-old man violated a protection order and shoved the victim into a window and door frame. Both were hospitalized for evaluation. Inbestigators say more charges are possible.
SUNY Cobleskill announced it’s received scholarship funding from a construction equipment company. Alta Equipment Company gave $200,000 to the SUNY Cobleskill Foundation for students entering the college’s diesel technology and power machinery programs. Alta has 54 locations across multiple states.
The Delhi Homeschool Group visited the Delaware County Sheriff”s Office last week. Deputy Kyle Karcher and K-9 Eli performed a demonstration and the children were provided a tour of the Administrative, Civil and Road Patrol Divisions. The children also learned about the functions of the Jail and the 911 center.
