SUNY Oneonta Central Heating Plant personnel are conducting the required annual combustion testing between today and next Monday. This testing may involve some loud noises, very noticeably outside Ford, Milne, and Perna Science. During the testing, you may notice that some buildings are warmer than usual.

A fire broke out Sunday at a Pittsfield 2-family home. Officials say it was a good Samaritan who reported the fire and the individual n then knocked on the doors and alerted residents. No injuries were reported and the residents were able to stay in their homes.
The New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services is conducting citizen preparedness training classes today in Otego from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at First Christian Church on County Highway 6. The class covers what to do in emergency situations.

A woman is charged in a domestic dispute in the town of Wright. State Police say a woman had an argument with the victim and she pulled out a gun but no shots were fired. The woman who is from Sharon was booked then released pending a future court date.
SUNY Oneonta names Dr. Enrique Morales-Díaz as provost and vice president for academic affairs. He is the assistant provost at Westfield State University in Massachusetts. Beginning March 13 Morales-Diaz willbe SUNY Oneonta’s chief academic officer and member of the president’s cabinet and executive staff.
