2023 Tapestry of Diversity and Inclusion Award Call for Nominations

SUNY Oneonta’s Office of Equity and Inclusion and the President’s Council on Diversity Inclusive Excellence Subcommittee seek nominations for the 2023 Tapestry of Diversity and Inclusion Award. It recognizes an individual or group that has made exceptional contributions toward fostering diversity and inclusion. Deadline for submissions is March 31.

Juvenile Charged In Stamford Child Sexual Assault Investigation

A Deleware County Sheriff’s investigation into child sexual assault in the town of Stamford leads to a juvenile facing charges. The investigation revealed the victim had been involved in sexual activity while under the age of consent. The juvenile was charged with one count of Sexual Misconduct.

2 Davenport Residents Charged With Animal Cruelty

Animal cruelty charges are brought against 2 Davenport residents from a Delaware County Sheriff’s investigation into reports of numerous dogs in a kennel/breeding facility not being properly cared for. The investigation revealed that it occurred in the spring and summer of 2022. Both residents will appear in court at a later date.

NY Allocates Funding For Road Repairs

New York allocates $1.7 million to resurface Route 28 from Route 357 to Main Street in the Towns of Franklin and Oneonta to repair weather-related damage. $1.3 million is allocated to resurface Route 206 in Chenango County from Route 41 to just west of Cemetery Road in Coventry and Bainbridge.

Monroe Man Plkeads Guilty To Child Sex Abuse Charges

A man facing child sex abuse charges in Delaware County takes a plea deal. Prosecutors say John Olson of Monroe pleaded guilty to 2 felony charges in connection with the 2020 incident in Andes. Sentencing is scheduled for March 20 in Delaware County Court.

Edmeston Man Charged With Making Harm Threats

A town of Edmeston man is charged with making threats of harm to another person. An Otsego County Sheriff’s investigation determined the man sent messages making the threats. He’s been charged with 2nd degree Aggravated Harassment annd a protection order was issued on the victim’s behalf.

Edmeston Man Charges With Stealing A Business Check

An Otsego County Sheriff’s investigation into a stolen and forged check leaeds to an Edmeston man facing multiple charges. The investigation found the man stole the $3.500 check from a business and conspired with others to cash it. The man was apprehenbded dter a shrt vehicle pursuit on Tuesday.

DMV Moving To Print On Demand Vehicle Inspection Stickers

The next time you get your vehiclke inspected you’ll see the sticker looks a little different. That’s because the DMV is moving to a print-on-demand system replacing the generic serial number stickers. The new sticker color will change each year as the old stickers did.

Hartwick College Adds 2 Administrators

Hartwick College adds two administration officials. Alicia Richardson is named the diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging officer. Dr. Noah Goldblatt is named director of global education and serves as the college’s senior international officer. He will be a member of the President’s Cabinet.
