Community Bank announced it is closing its Milford and Schenevus branches on April 28. All Otsego reports the clsure decision was the result of slowing business at the branches. Community officials say 5 other branches in Otsego County will remain open.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office promotes Civil Division employee Tammy Wagner to Senior Civil Clerk. She’s been with the Sheriff’s office since June 2020. Sheriff Craig DuMond says he has the utmost confidence that ammy will continue to serve the county with the highest degree of professionalism and competency.
New York gets over $3.8 million from the USDA Food and Nutrition Service program to help senior citizens get better access to locally grown food. The funding goes to expand the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program at farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture programs.
State Police are investigating a shote fired incident in West Fulton earlier this month. The Times-Journal reports troopers were called to West Fulton Road after three peole reported the shootings but were not able to locate a shooter and so far no arrests have been made.
A woman from Texas is charged after she’s found in the Town of Hartwick in possession of an unregistered firearm. The Otsego County Sheriff’s office booked the woman then released her pending a future appearance in Hartwick Town Court.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released its New York job openings and labor turnover reports for December. It says New York had 297,000 hires and 255,000 separations. Of those 172,000 quit their job making the state one of 6 where quits increased over the month.
Attorneys for the limousine company owner whose vehicle crashed in Schoharie 4 years ago killing 20 people were back in court after a judge tossed a plea deal. The plea deal would have allowed Naumann Hussain to avoid prison time. If a new deal is not reach a trial cound start in May.
The driver who hit a City of Norwich police officer with his car is now in custody. Investigators say it happened at Stewarts Shop on State Route 23 and the driver was found in the ceiling of a Town of Oneonta building.
