Governor Kathy Hochul confirmed there are five cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant in New York. Other reported cases are in California, Colorado and Minnesota. Hochul posted on social media that residents should get vaccinated, get booster shots and be sure to wear a mask. A state of emergency was declared last Friday.
