Oneonta Inclusive Business Award Voting Now Open

Voting is open for the Oneonta Inclusive Business Award. It is a joint initiative of SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College aimed at fostering partnerships between area businesses, organizations, and the two institutions. Voting is open until April 14.

Rabid Raccoon Found In Delhi

A raccoon tested positive for rabies in the town of Delhi. One dog was bitten and it wasn’t up to date on vaccines so it is in a 6-month quarantine per state regulations. There were no other exposures.

Memorial Service Held For Unadilla Fire Chief

A memorial service was held last Saturday for former Unadilla Fire Chief Carl French, who died March 21 at the age of 81. French also was Otsego County Deputy Fire Coordinator for 36 years. He is buried at Evergreen Hill Cemetary.

NY Farmers Rank 2nd in Food Donations

The New York Farm Bureau announced its members donated nearly 6.4 million pounds of food to regional food banks last year through the Harvest for All program. That was the second highest donation total in the country for 2022, behind Florida.

NY Allocates Money For Addiction Services

New York allocates $3.2 million to help care providers connect those with a drug addiction to rehabilitation services and other forms of support. The initiative will provide 11 grants of $200,000 apiece for eligible providers. Money comes from the Opioid Settlement Fund.
