Templeton Foundation Can Resume Some Work At Cooperstown Site

The Templeton Foundation is permitted to conduct limited work at the foundation’s property on Averill Road in the Village of Cooperstown after a show cause hearing. All Otsego reports geotechnical testing is proceeding in order to understand the subsurface conditions of the potential development site.

Worcester Man Charged With Larceny

A man is charged in an Otsego County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a larceny complaint in Worcester. The man was taken into custody, booked then released on his own recognizance. He is due in court at a later date.

Walton Man Takes Drug Possession Plea Deal

A man from Walton takes a plea deal to drug charges in Broome County. Prosecutors say William J. Effner pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance. Effner will be sentenced to four years in prison followed by two years of post-release supervision.

Laundry Love Comes To Norwich

National nonprofit Laundry Love is opening Wednesday at Norwich Laundromat on East Main Street. Laundry Love partners with groups and local laundromats in cleaning clothes and linens of low-income or no-income individuals and families. The Norwich location operates during the third Wednesday of every month from 4-6 p.m.

OPD Investigating Gunshot Wound Report

Oneonta Police are investigating claims by an individual that they were injured by a gun shot. Offivers were called to A.O. Fox Hospital but there was no conclusive evidence of a gunshot wound. The individual was treated and released.

DEC Issues Guidance to Reduce Conflicts with Bears

The Department of Environmental Conservation reminds the public to remove or secure outdoor food sources that may attract black bears.Those who feed birds should begin emptying and cleaning up spilt seed from feeders, secure garbage cans and store pet and livestock food indoors.
