A driver is facing charges from a Norwich police pursuit last Friday. It started after an attempted traffic stop and ended at Hortsman’s Trailer Park in the town of Norwich where the man barricaded himself in the vehicle. He also had outstanding warrants.
County Road 16 in the Town of Delhi is closed today between the two intersections with Fleming Road while crews replace a culvert pipe. Tomorrow the road will be closed in the Town of Franklin between the northern intersection with Fleming Road and Douglas Hall Road.
A man is charged from an investigation into a Town of Walton domestic dispute. Police say the man made physical contact with a woman in an effort to prevent her from calling 911. The man was booked then released on his own recognizance.

The State Department of Environmental Conservation announced that the fishing season for walleye, northern pike, pickerel and tiger muskellunge begins on May 1. Walleye are now found in more than 140 waters while opportunities to catch lunker northern pike can also be found throughout much of the state.
New York’s Farmland Protection Implementation Grant program has helped preserve more than 107,000 acres of at-risk farmland through March. The completed conservation easement projects total more than $250 million on nearly 370 farms. Approximately 20 percent of the state’s land area is farmland.
A toewn of Laurens home was destrotyed in a huge fire on Thursday. Authorities say the blaze at the A-frame house on Mary Brown Hill Road started in the chimney and a rekindling was reported Friday morning. Firefighters were able to get it under control by noon.
SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College holds “OIH-Fest” this Saturday on Main Street from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. According to a media release the street fair is a collaborative event designed to foster and celebrate unity among the two schools and the Oneonta community.

A suspicious vehicle report in the town oif Waltion results in 2 men taken into custody. According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s office the driver had an outstanding warrant out of Broome County while the passenger was wanted in connection to the driver’s warrant.
