Preliminary work for replacing the Center Street Bridge at Brook Street begins on Wednesday with detour signs placement. Work will vontinue through through the end of August. Center Street will be closed from West Street to Church Street.
Bond is set at $10,000 cash or $100,000 bond for a 73-year-old Hartwick man charged with having sexual contact with a minor he met online. Police say the man picked up the minor in Utica and went back to his home in Hartwick where sexual activity occurred.

A skunk tested positive for rabies in the Village of Deposit. An unvaccinated dog and one person were exposed to the rabid skunk. The dog was humanely euthanized. The individual is undergoing post-exposure treatment. To report a suspected rabid animal call Delaware County Public Health Services.
A traffic stop in Unadilla leads to a drug bust. Sheriff’s deputies found a man was in possession of Methamphetamine and fentanyl. The man was arrested, and put on a pre-arraignment hold at the Otsego County Correctional Facility.
Hanford Mills Museum beins its 50th season next Wednesday. The museum’s staff have worked on several projects to prepare for welcoming visitors back. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays through Oct. 15.
A registered sex offender from Deposit is charged with not updating his new address. According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office the man was located in the Village of Unadilla. He was booked then released pending a Town of Deposit court date.
An audit by State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office finds overtime costs at state agencies last year rose 47.2% to more than $1.36 billion, setting a new record. Overtime hours increased 11.1% and overtime earnings comprised 7.5% of total payroll spending.
